What, for you, is the importance of our global diaspora and how do you contribute to its success?
The importance of the global diaspora is to make sure Belfast receives the recognition it deserves as the City has come an extremely long way over the past 50 years. The Belfast of today is not the Belfast my parents were born into and I think they would be proud to see how far it has come. I would to dedicate this award to my mother and father who both were born and bread in Belfast but made a sacrifice to journey to New York City so my brother, sister and I could have the best of both worlds.
Tell us how you connect to Belfast:
I connect to Belfast via all my relatives who live here. I visit Belfast and live it through them. They are my aunts, uncles, cousins, 2nd cousins and they live and breathe Belfast.
You know you’ve got Belfast heritage when…:
When you're speaking and you refer to a gentleman as "Your Man".
