Biography:
Enda O'Coineen is the Publisher & CEO of the Business Post Media Group. He is also Partner and Founder of Kilcullen Kapital Partners, an investment management, finance, corporate and venture company. An NUI Business and Finance graduate, Enda has a strong communications, finance and technology background. Business start-ups include the Czech and Slovak Credit Bureaus, Globix Telecom ( Then eTel), Key 6 Recruitment ( now part of CPL) and ASPEKT Kilcullen, a financial information and publishing company. .
Enda also been involved and led several enterprise turnaround projects – such as ZPA – a meter manufacturing company which was successfully restructured. He also founded EnEercap, a €100 m renewable and energy efficiency fund. He is a owner Mc Carthy’s and Caffreys Pubs in Prague and he President of Irish Pubs Global, a network of the owners and managers of Irish Pubs Around the World. He passionately believes in 'putting something back' having funded, supported and given considerable time to charity. Currently he is Chairman of the ATLANTIC Youth Trust charity and he served as Chairman of the Volvo Ocean Race in Galway and The Green Dragon Campaign.
In 2018 he completed a solo circumnavigation of the World in a 60 foot boat. An accomplished ocean adventurer, he has allso sailed in the Whitbread and the Vendee Global. Once crossed the Atlantic alone in a 15 foot dinghy while developing a sailing life-raft as the result of a bet ! he is the author of 5 books, including the best selling Unsinkable Entrepreneur. His most recent book and his 5th is “Journey to The Edge”
What, for you, is the importance of our global diaspora and how do you contribute to its success?
Increasingly communities are being defined by who people are, what they stand for, their values and their sense of being. This is revolutionised by technology in that you can be in Shanghai, New York, Brisbane or Belfast and only a ' click' or a virtually free Skype call away.
And that is in a sense our Global Diaspora in that we do not define ourself by geographic location rather as a community, be it British, Irish or somewhere in between…
